Description
Quantum Machines is a global leader in hybrid control systems for quantum computing, a field on the verge of exponential growth.
Our innovative hardware and software offer a groundbreaking approach to controlling quantum computers, scaling from individual qubits to arrays of thousands.
At the heart of QM is a passionate, ambitious team committed to transforming the construction and operation of quantum computers. Our deep understanding of customer needs drives us to deliver unmatched solutions in this revolutionary field.
About the role
You are the engine that moves the platform forward. You synchronize every team, own the Gantt, the critical chain and the risks, and push each milestone from design through NPI and Operations to volume. A tech lead owns the technical decisions beside you.
This is a managerial role for someone with deep technical roots. You report to the Director of Program Management, work daily with R&D, NPI, Operations and Product, and have direct visibility to senior management.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform programs: Own delivery of platform modules and SW releases, from first design to a system running in a customer's lab.
- Cross-team engine: Synchronize hardware (board and mechanical), FPGA, firmware, software, Quality, NPI and Operations as one program, on a weekly cadence that moves milestones.
- Plan and critical chain: Own the Gantt with the tech lead and team leads, and always know which dependency moves the date.
- Scale-up: Lead the transition from prototype to repeatable production with NPI and Operations: DVT, pilot, long-lead items and the handoff to manufacturing.
- Gates and releases: Run every gate from PDR to GA with clear exit criteria, and drive each SW release to its date.
- Risks and reporting: Keep a real risk register and an accurate Jira and Structure, and escalate early with options.
- Methods: Build the frameworks and cadences that let R&D scale.
Requirements
Requirements
- Transitioned a product to scale- proven experience taking a complex hardware and software system from prototype to repeatable, large-scale production, in close collaboration with NPI and Operations..Must
- 8+ years of program management experience within R&D organizations, with a strong technical background and career progression in R&D.-Must
- Experience managing complex projects involving hardware development (boards and mechanical systems), alongside firmware, FPGA and/or software development, including large-scale system integration.Must
- Strong understanding of technical dependencies and critical paths, with the ability to assess how engineering tasks and decisions impact overall program timelines.Must
- Strong command of Gantt planning and Jira, with a track record of maintaining accurate project plans and delivering reliable, timely status reporting.Must
- Strong attention to detail while maintaining a big-picture perspective, with the ability to communicate complex topics clearly and influence stakeholders without formal authority.
- Creative, proactive and hands-on approach, with strong initiative and the ability to drive execution forward.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-changing environment, manage pressure and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Collaborative, ego-free mindset, with a strong focus on teamwork and results.
- Fluent in Hebrew and English.
Strong Advantages
- Hands-on experience with AI tools and agentic workflows, including the ability to introduce and implement new AI-driven ways of working.
- Strong methodological thinking, with experience designing and implementing frameworks, processes and operating models adopted across teams.
- Experience scaling R&D organizations and processes, particularly in a startup-to-scale-up environment.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or a related technical field.
Additional Advantages
- Background in quantum computing, RF and microwave technologies, scientific instrumentation or other deep-tech domains.
- Experience with Agile at scale or leading Agile transformation initiatives.
